Beyond the Reasons

I have to admit that I watched the first season of '13 Reasons Why' in two days and I am so excited to hear that there will be a second season for the Netflix series. Although I do recommend watching the show, I think the most important episode to watch is 'Beyond The Reasons' and it is great because you don't need Netflix to watch it as they released it on YouTube (shared in the video below). The video has the opinions of not only the cast and people from production but also professionals who talk about bullying, depression, suicide and sexual assault. I think that it is important for teenagers and young adults to watch a documentary like this because there are a lot of important things that were discussed that could help you or make you more aware of mental health.

If you need help or if you are struggling with depression, just know that there are people out there who do actually want to listen and help. Talk to people you trust such as family members and friends. Try counsellours at school or university and if they are of no help, seek other counsellours. Or, alternatively, you can talk to other professionals such as psychologists, doctors and even nurses. If one person couldn't or didnt help, don't give up on hope just yet, there are OTHER people out there who can help.

Mental health is a really big issue that people don't want to talk about but we need to before it is too late. If you are depressed, you need to do something about it rather than bottling it all up. The first step is to always seek help. It will take a while to take control of your own happiness but you will get better.
